INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PERSONAL AND COMMERCIAL SPACEFLIGHT
For several years in the dusty environs of New Mexico, the space industries of the world have been meeting to talk about what has been, what is and what is coming.
In 2004, the XPrize was won by a native New Mexican and his crew. They demonstrated reusable spaceflight vehicles, delivered a payload to orbit and returned the delivery vehicle to Earth to be re-used. X Prize X Prize Foundation The first International Symposium for Personal and Commercial Spaceflight was held at the Corbett Center ballrooms at New Mexico State University in October of 2004. Each October since, the Symposium has hosted astronauts, engineers, dreamers and believers from around the world and I've been there every time I had the funds to do so. In 2009 the ground was broken on Space Port America, 35 miles north of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Space Port America This year the symposium will be held at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum on October 19 and 20, 2011. I will be there. This time I will be able to record the symposium while I'm there, laptop and camera helping to record what I see as world moving discussions. Hope you enjoy it. I intend to do so. |
So, join me as I record the two days of world discussion of space flight, commercial expansion and who the people are with personal space flight dreams.
